Keep ice packs in the freezer. Not
as messy as ice cubes and you won't find them in empty trays |
 |
Have lots of band aids in all
shapes and sizes on hand. Even if a cut doesn't need one, a kid
feels better when you put one on. I even use them on bruises
just to soften the blow. Buy some fancy ones for special
occasions. |
 |
Popsicles are wonderful for sore
throats |
 |
Use a cold steamer rather than a
hot steam vaporizer. Supposed to be better for the nose and
lungs. |
 |
Flush burns with cool water. Don't
put greasy stuff on it. |
 |
When administering liquid
medicines, use a medicine tube rather than a teaspoon or
tablespoon and you won't have spills. Some drug stores include
them with the prescription. (A medicine tube has a long lip
on it that acts as a tongue depressor) |
 |
Keep your child's immunizations up
to date. (In my part of the country, a child cannot start
school until he/she has all the required shots) |
 |
Take a first aid course or read
books on it. |
 |
Don't play doctor, see one if your
child needs to! |
